Introduction
Earlier this year I reviewed the first game of this series. You can find the review here. As you can see, I really loved it. I loved everything from the music to the look and feel. I had gotten this game free on XBOX Games with Gold. This led me to purchase the second game in the series, Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2. Let us see if it is on par with the first game.

Story
Once again you play as Vinnie Cannoli. This time this takes place in 1944 (15 years after the previous game) during the Second World War.
The Dark Don is coming after you and he wants to meet with you. So, you start back at Thugtown and then you go through Europe on your journey to the Dark Don.
Gameplay
If you played the first game then you will be right at home here. It is still the same game play with a few adjustments.
First, you still have your array of weapons with a few extra ones. However, the idea is the same. You have dual guns and a weapon wheel. You can find ammo throughout the game and enemies will drop some as well.
This time, you have more range with your weapons. You can shoot 360 degrees around you, which is a good improvement on the previous installment.
They also added a double jump which will be very useful. They also added jump-kicking, dodge rolls, and somersaults.
Your health boosts are still provided through Cannoli's. You usually get them close to a checkpoint.
There is a campaign mode and a Multiplayer mode. Unfortunately, I was only able to play the campaign mode. Every time I tried a multiplayer game, I found no one else playing. That was a bummer as I really wanted to play it.
Once that you choose the difficulty, Easy, Medium, and Hard, you can play with up to 4 players co-op. Unfortunately, I did not know anyone else playing the game, so I could not test this out myself.
The rest of the game is pretty much the same.

Bottomline
Honestly, if you liked the previous game like I did, you will like this one. I truly enjoyed every minute of this game. From the great animation to the voice acting. I know that i am repeating but It still feels like Contra meets The Godfather.
Basically, this is what you look for in a sequel. They took what was working in the first game and tweaked it. The shooting was a little difficult in the first game. However adding the double jump and adding the 360 round aiming, really enhanced the experience.
Although the campaign is very fun, I found it disappointing that no one is playing the multiplayer. I tried to find a server or even host a game but no one was on at 8 pm EST. So I would assume that no one really plays the game for this mode.
I still truly enjoy the humour. Yes, it is clichéd and the jokes have been done numerous times before. However, the jokes are well placed and I found myself chuckling pretty often.
The story is nothing to be blown away, but it does the job. It is just a fun, run and gun game. It is not a very long experience. It took me a little shy of 6 hours of playing time to complete the game. If you are a trophy or achievements collector, this game is great for you. It is very easy to get these achievements. It will take a few play throughs to get through them all.
As mentioned before, the best part of the game for me is the soundtrack and animations. The soundtrack has that 40's jazz / big band feel. It is really nice. In fact, my viewers (RushDVD) also mentioned it to me on stream.
I think for the price, it is worth it even if the multiplayer is not working very well at the moment. I think that it is easy to pick up and it is truly a joy to play. It is not a terribly long game, so it is great to just jump in. You do not need to play the first game to enjoy this one. However, you would be supporting an indie developer. So I encourage you to buy this game on your favourite platform.
