This Science Fiction thriller was released on April 28 2000, was directed by Gregory Hobbit and starred Denis Quaid and Jim Caviezel.
The story is about an NYPD detective named John Sullivan (Caviezel) who through a rare atmospheric phenomenon is a able to communicate with his father, Frank Sullivan (Quad), thirty years in the past via a HAM radio. John decides to warn his farther of his impending death in a warehouse fire, and manages to save his life. However, changing history, triggers a new set of tragic events that include the murder of John’s mom. Now, father and son must work together while 30 years apart, to find the murderer before he strikes.
Of course the premise is a little far-fetched, but come on, this is science fiction so anything goes, right? Actually, it’s Caviezel and Quaid’s strong performances that really hold the film together. You actually believe they are father and son. The rest of the cast are great too and together they create a strong family dynamic. Elizabeth Mitchell plays Julia Sulllivan and Shawn Doyle plays Jack Shepard.
So key up Frequency and enjoy a good science fiction thriller with a strong ensemble cast.
