Ethan Hunt and the IMF team join forces with CIA assassin August Walker in order to prevent a disaster of epic proportions. Arms dealer, John Lark and a group of terrorists, known as the Apostles, plan to use three plutonium cores to simultaneously attack, the Vatican, Jerusalem and Mecca in Saudi Arabia. When the weapons go missing, Ethan and his crew find themselves in a desperate race against time to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.

Mission: Impossible is the rare Hollywood franchise that got better as it went along. So, here we are with Fallout, the sixth entry in this 22-year-old series. There is no doubt in my mind that 99% of the success with this franchise is due to Tom Cruise. His dedication to the character, the script and of course his willingness to perform his own stunts, has given this franchise the adrenaline rush that action fans crave.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout continues to live up to the high standards against it. And it is deserving of all the positive reviews and its biggest opening weekend box office take of $61,236,534.

There is no doubt in my mind, this is THE summer action movie. Heck it may even be the action movie of the year. Fallout continues to deliver that “WOW” factor that is grossly missing in most of the big Hollywood franchises now a days. Tom, Simon, Rebecca, and the rest of the cast have seamlessly grown into their characters, making them better with each movie.

I don’t know who the madman is who conjures up these incredible action sequences, but once again, Fallout does not disappoint. We have a motorcycle/car chase scene from the Solomon Lane Extraction, then there’s a HALO jump, a Helicopter battle sequence, and to top it all off, a brutal Bathroom brawl. All I can say is, you need to see this movie in IMAX! It is total mayhem.

As much as I do love all these action sequences however, they wouldn’t mean a thing if we didn’t care about Ethan Hunt and the rest of MI team. What has always been endearing to me is the fact that Hunt and his team value individual life, and that no one is expendable That is what made Ethan Hunt a hero, his relentless pursuit to save everyone.

Another thing that I enjoy about the MI series, is that even though each installment can be seen as a standalone film, the last three movies are linked. With Fallout, we start to subtly see how Hunt’s pursuit for justice over the last few films have taken a toll on him.

The Bottom Line, Mission: Impossible – Fallout is another fine addition to the MI franchise and needs to be seen on the big screen. Regardless if this your sixth or even your first Mission Impossible film, you should “choose” to accept it and watch it in IMAX.

P.S.- if you payed close attention to all six films, there are some nice Easter Eggs in Fallout (write us here at Arountable if you figure out what they are).
