Background
If you have been reading our reviews at Aroundtable, you will know that I am a big fan of Lillian Axe. They were a band that hit their peak in the 90's. They never really made it mainstream though. However I always found their music well written and well played. They have quite a few studio albums under their belts. They have a few really awesome song gems like Ghost of Winter, Day I Met You and Love + War. Their sound matured as each album was released. At the beginning they sounded like a typical 80's Glam Rock group. However with each album, the writing was stronger and the arrangements less mainstream rock.
So the song that I have chosen to be third on this list is Needle and Your Pain from their fourth album Psychoschizophrenia. Yes this is a tear jerker. This is was written in honour of a kid that had cancer. The band decided to write the song in his honour. This song can be taken different ways. You can take as a dark song, as you are seeing someone else suffering and close to their last breath? You can also see it as being relieving as you see them pass on.

Bottomline
We have all been in this situation where are seeing someone that we care deeply about and feel helpless. We would do everything in our power to take the pain away so that they can be free from the suffering. If this is something that has not happened yet to you, it will.
There are 2 parts of the lyrics that always stuck with me.

The part above is when you feel helpless and do not know what to do. However the next part is also very true and is relieving to know that the person is not suffering anymore.

The song is very simple with an acoustic guitar. A very touching tribute to a child that had cancer.
