The last year has not been an easy one for rock legends AC/DC. Firstly, founding member, Malcolm Young, was diagnosed with dementia and could not play on their new album (this is a first time ever in their 40 year history). Secondly, drummer Phil Rudd narrowly avoided a murder charge for allegedly hiring a hit- man and still has charges pending for possessing methamphetamine and marijuana. Let’s face it, most bands would buckle under those kind of conditions, but it seems like business as usual for AC/DC.
‘Rock Or Bust’ is AC/DC’s best album since ‘The Razor’s Edge’. The band sounds more unified than ever, playing arena rock songs that fans come to expect and want to sing along to. The album is all killer - no filler; clocking in at a short and sweet thirty five rockin’ minutes.
With AC/DC you know what you’re getting…a great rock record. There is no reinventing the wheel with this band but, when a band delivers eleven rocking tunes after all they have been through….you can’t help but smile…and play air guitar…I know Malcolm would.
